Affordable flats for local artists

Central to the work of Wirral Arts and Culture Community Land Trust is the desire to develop
affordable community-led housing for artists based and living in the Wirral.

The house in Silverdale Road, where Ron’s Place is, will offer three flats to locally-based
artists who are looking for affordable housing. We will have two one-bedroom flats and one
two-bedroom flat that we’re looking to refurbish and allocate to WACCLT members and local
artists.

We also know there are likely to be more artists looking for affordable housing in Wirral,
maybe with combined work or gallery space attached. WACCLT has been set up to develop
just such approaches, all linked with truly collective ownership of the land and assets. When
you become a member of WACCLT, you are a joint owner of the asset.

So, we want to hear from you if you are an artist in Wirral and you either want to live in the
Silverdale Road house and want to work with us on securing its refurbishment, or if you want
to explore what a second project for WACCLT might look like in Wirral.

Interested? Get in touch with us at membership@wirralartsandculture.org and we’ll get a first
meeting together to discuss in more detail.
